Hydrosols are gentle, natural products that are ideal for daily personal home use, or as ingredients in natural product formulations.
They are composed mainly of pure filtered water with hydrophilic & hydrophobic compounds.
Aromatic compounds are also called Hydrophilic compounds -
they include polyphenols, acids, phenols, alcohols, ketones, aldehydes, and oxides.
Essential Oil compounds are also called Hydrophobic compounds -
they include monoterpenes, terpenic esters and sesquiterpenes. This element usually makes up between 0.05%-0.5% of the Hydrosol.
Botanical Name of Hydrosol -
White Grapefruit - Citrus racemosa.
Aroma Description -
A gentle uplifting, fresh, tart and tangy citrus aroma with mild bitter undertones.
Traditional uses for White Grapefruit Hydrosol include -
White Grapefruit is an uplifting and refreshing Hydrosol.
It can be used in skin care preparations as it is strongly antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory in its effect.
It is also rich in anti-oxidants and can be added to preparations for acne, skin breakouts and it helps to sooth skin irritations.
White Grapefruit Hydrosol freshens and tones the skin.
It can be applied to the skin after cleansing as an aromatic toner, or it can be put into a misting bottle and can be sprayed over the face (eyes closed!) and/or body to give a revitalizing lift on a warm day.
It is often added to Clay Masks to improve their purifying and astringent qualities.

Product Safety -
Always store Hydrosols in an upright position with the cap firmly secured in place.
To maximise the shelf life of any Hydrosol it should be stored out of direct sunlight, in a cool, dry environment. - A fridge is ideal.
Hydrosols, if stored correctly, can last once opened between 6 months to 1 year.
Dispose of opened products if they become overly cloudy, (some hydrosols are a little cloudy even when completely fresh), if the aroma changes suddenly or if particles can be seen in the liquid or floating on top of the liquid. This indicates that the items shelf life has been exceeded and a fresh replacement product is required.
Hydrosols should never be -
taken internally,
never be put in or near the eyes nor put on areas of damaged or inflamed skin.
they should be stored away from children and used with caution around babies, small children and pets.
