Traditional uses for Gardenia Absolute include -
A delicate and precious Absolute that yields only a tiny amount of Oil per tonne of base plant material. To help maximise the crop the flowering tops are harvested during the early hours of the morning when their Absolute yield it at it's maximum levels.
Gardenia is a soothing and relaxing Absolute, that helps promote feelings of tranquillity and peacefulness.
It is used in skin care preparations as it has strong antibacterial and antiseptic qualities - making it great for oily, sallow, spotty and acne skin types. It also has an impressive anti-oxidant index - and so can also be used on dry, parched, prematurely aged and mature skin types, helping nourish the skin and reduce free-radical damage when used regularly.
Used in massage it can reduce cramps and spasms and releases tension in stiff and achy muscles. As an anti-spasmodic it is also a popular choice during childbirth, helping with the pain and comforting the mind and body.
Gardenia is also used as an aphrodisiac - helping to give feelings of intimacy and romance - and increases sexual desire.

Rose, Ylang Ylang, black Pepper, Cinnamon, Boronia, Coffee Blossom, Frangipani and Pink Lotus Essential Oils amongst many others.
