Traditional uses for Japanese Sugi Essential Oil include -
Sugi means 'Cedar' in Japanese and Cryptomeria Japonica is Japan's national tree.
The magnificent trees can reach over 70 metres in height, and are traditionally planted near Temples and Shrines, and form large areas of forestation in Japan.
Sugi is a calming, soothing Essential Oil that helps you relax when feeling tense and overly alert.
When used in massage it helps improve the circulation and toxin removal. It relaxes tension and discomfort in tight muscles and stiff joints & is a useful immune system booster.
It can be used in skincare support for oily and greasy skin types, and offers a highly anti-microbial profile, making it a good choice for acne and spotty skins. It can also be added to haircare preparations to discourage overly oily hair - helping to re-address the natural balance of the hairs oil secretions.
Sugi has a rich Pinene content and so it can be used to help respiratory conditions when burnt and inhaled.
When burnt it is also traditionally used for meditative purposes and active reflection, it helps achieve a positive, relaxed mindset.
